Long electric towing cables

Does anybody else have electric cables that are too long?

We have an adapter that we have to fit on the towbar to cater for the two cables..This makes the cables from the caravan drag on the floor unless we strap them up.

I was wondering whether not to bother with the adapter and just use the black cable. What does the white (grey) cable do other than run the fridge whilst moving?

Cathryn, we had the same problem with long cables on our new abbey. Under the a frame cover the cables should be tied up with cable tie. what we did was to pull some of the cable back through 2 lots of cable ties and that solved the peoblem. Dont pull too much through as when you go around corners you need more cable.

As for the grey plug I think it does just run the fridge, but not sure

The grey cable, if the car and caravan are wired correctly, powers the fridge and charges the battery, and also powers the reversing lights if fitted.

For many it is much more than an optional extra.
