Looking for a caravan site within an hour's drive of Liverpool

Hello everyone - I'm looking for a caravan site less than an hour away from Liverpool. My daughter lives in Liverpool, and we're hoping to come over from Ireland at the end of October. Last month we stayed at CC Wirral Country Park and would like to try somewhere different this time, I've been looking at some sites in Cheshire, but would really value some advice about actual journey time into Liverpool rather than "googling" it. We will probably be using a ferry crossing to Holyhead.
Any hints and advice is appreciated, thanks!

Hi was just reading your post. We stayed at Elm Cottage Touring Park just outside Chester this year and went to visit my husbands aunt in St Helens. Travelling up to St Helens took us approx one hour. We too travelled from Ireland and got the ferry from Dublin to Holyhead. To chester it took us approx 2 hours. The caravan park was handy for the motorway up to St Helens which is not far from Liverpool I think. The site is quite small but the toilets etc are very clean. It is quite close to the road which can be a bit noisy but we would stay at it again. Hope this is of some help to you. Olive

Hi I am from Liverpool, Try Southport CC site. There are loads around Southport, Scarisbrick, one in Formby, One in Ainsdale and quite a few in the Delamere Forest. All these are within about an hour of Liverpool. Try Caravan site finder, a most helpful site. Good luck.
