Hello, as the heading suggests I am looking for a small site with good walking access between Fordingbridge and Ringwood.
The purpose of this is to allow me to walk the River Avon path and from the site, (if there is one), set off on foot then return by bus.
I have searched for a few years for such a site, depending on the site I may not even take the caravan and use a pup tent as my wife will not be interested in joining me on this venture.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Hi Silver Surfer,
I have listed a couple of sites which may help you. These are near to Fordingbridge.
Sandy Balls is the largest, but a little expensive, and has a lot to do on site.

Hill Cottage Farm may suit you price wise and appears quite a nice site.

I have stayed at Sandy Balls quite some years ago, but I have no idea of Hill Cottage. If you don't mind a bit of driving to get to the River Avon at Ringwood, there is Woolsbridge Manor Farm at Three Legged Cross, although there are buses that pass the site.

Hi Silver Surfer.I can recommend Hill Cottage Farm its a beautiful site for Camping or Caravanning. Its situated at Alderholt but the postal address is Fordingbridge which is a nice litte place . You can check them out on their own website or on www.ukcampsites.co.uk there is no bad feedback at all. We were that pleased with the site we aked if we could pay and stay for extra days ,(No Chance) Check up with them early

Thanks for the replies, I have stayed at Sandy Balls several times in chalets and our caravan, whilst staying there I saw the River Avon and thought it would be a good walk down to Ringwood but would prefer to be closer to the river if possible. Still looking and remember scouring the sat image on Google maps and found what looked like a pub on the left going south on the main road which appeared to have a few caravans behind it, will look again and let you know.

Cheers. SS
