We're thinking of buying a caravan (never had one before) but would like to possibly hire a caravan on a site for a full season - even if it's a static. This will give us chance to see if it's really what we want before spending all that money! Does anyone know of any sites that might hire out for a season - there's only me and my husband (the children are grown up now) and we're looking either Yorkshire Dales, Lancashire or Lake District.

Hi Katy

Welcome to the forum.

You will get more of a response to your questions if you post in the General section.

Be careful if considering buying a static caravan, it's a well documented fact that owners of statics lose money hand over fist.

Hi, if you do rent a static, do not let the salesmen talk you into buying one. We have just sold ours. The van was only two years old and we lost half our money when we sold it. They tell you about the sites fees etc, but there are loads that they don't bother to tell you. In our experience, these salesmen are good at their job, however, once you have bought the thing, they are not interested in the slightest. We have now bought our first tourer and having great fun. So just be very aware.
