loose toilet seat

Hi folks, the toilet seat on my thetford (porcelain) toilet has come loose. Cant find a way into it to tighten the seat. Any ideas. Pete
 
Hi Ether823, I have the same problem, but mine has never been tight from new. I have tried to get it tight but it still moves. I think i removed the cover between the seat hinges and got at it that way, it takes some removing but it will come off, cant remember what i did next so it will be interesting to see if it can be fixed.
 
Thanks Graham, I have tried to get into the back cover but it dos`nt seem to want to come off. I`m frightened of breaking it. I`ve emailed Thetford and i`m awaiting a reply. (not holding breath)
 
Hi Ether823. I dont know if you fixed your seat but i think ive sorted mine. I took the 2 screws out and removed the seat, then put a strip of none slip mat , (the stuff you get on a roll),on the back and then replaced the seat and screws. Seems to be a lot firmer and not sliding all over the place.
