Hi

Good site, with good facilities.

Walks all round the area many from the site or a short drive away

Castleton good for pubs and meals and tea shops, if required.

We liked the Chesshire Cheese and the Castle. Good tourist info with a demo of how life used to be like. Caves to visit to.

Butchers, veg shop and spar in Hope for provisions.

Bus outside the site to Sheffield.

Walk to Hope

Walk the ridge from Losehill to Mam Tor see the old Road.

Visit Derwent Water and the Dam Busters area.

We like Edale by foot or car and walk the pennine way.

Nags Head in Edale good.

We hardly use the car. An evenning stroll into Castleton nice.

We have been in August, September and November always enjoy it

Chippy really good in the village but closes at 6

Buxton, Bakewell and Chatswoth not far. Hathersge area for walks in the heather in August.

Sorry to butt in on this Kev.

Mike - what's the drive up like? (Coming from the Notts way).

Lisa
We come up A17 to Newark, bypass Mansfield on Sutton in Ashfield bypass then go through Chesterfield. Not the most enjoyable going through Chesterfield, but just take your time.

Use M1 from Nottingham then onto Chesterfield might be your best way.

Follow signs for Chatsworth from Chesterfield as you go through Baslow.

Then we go through Calver, Stoney Middleton, then turn right to Hucklow, Bradwell and onto Castleton road. Much better than the sites book via Hathersage

Chesterfield worth a visit on market day to
