Lubrication Of Door lock

Hi fellow caravaners, can you help please, I would like to know how to lubricate my van door lock. Using the key is now so stiff I am afraid of breaking the key in the lock. I remember once being told never to use WD40 for some reason or another, so can anyone help me with this problem.

My lock is stiffening up on my new(ish) Bailey. Apparently this is a common and known fault and I will have it changed at the first annual service in June.

I have tried silicone oil spray and it has made absolutely no difference.

As Parksy points out there is another thread on here on how to remove the lick and sand down the spindle - which I would do if not under warranty.
