A poster on another forum was having an issue with warranty work as apparently Lunar had instructed the third party to stop any warranty work. The poster then contacted Lunar who initially told the poster that Lunar were shutting down for the holidays.

On chasing it again today, the poster was told that by someone at Lunar that Lunar Caravans was in administration and they could not assist with the warranty work until certain issues had bene resolved?

With Lunar in administration the administrator will have to look at what can be done with warranty problems. we will have to wait and see what happens but it looks ominous.
The poster will still have rights against the dealer but if they have sold a lot of Lunars and have many warranty issues they may go down also which would leave any claim against any finance or credit card company used.

The Dealers will undoubtedly be feeling the knock on effects in sales of new and used Lunars, but will also have potential problems acquiring parts particularly those that are Lunar specific such as panels, etc.

We did have a claim for damage to our Avondale after they went out of business but the repairer was able to get the parts from Magnum Motorhomes who bought up the parts. I assume that if Lunar do go out of business which is not clear yet something similar will happen so parts should be available in the short term at least. The working bits from the chassis to the fittings are all available in other makes and should not be a problem and we even have a manufacturers guarantee on some of them.
