I'm struggling with our latest purchase of a Lunar Clubman SE 2012. Bought privately second hand, but came with no manuals, Have been on various manufacturers and downloaded what I could, there are some things I can't get my head round. On the offside of the van near to the water inlet is a round exit but has no cap on, when I tried the heating hot air was escaping through this 'hole', should this have a cap on and should hot air be escaping through this? The van has Alde 'wet' heating with a radiator in the bathroom, but for the life of me can't see where the heating is for the rest of the van except for a couple of vents beside the wardrobe. Does this particular van have underfloor heating?
There is a Truma Ultraflow water inlet, but everytime I fit my newly purchased Whale 1642 the water is gushing back from the filter housing, tried it with and without the filter but it doesn't stop, and nothing coming through the taps.
Any advice would be most appreciated

Hi Cazzbah
The hot air escaping from the round hole may be the exhaust from the heating, was it on gas or electric or both?It should not have a cover.
The Alde system contains fluid like a domestic heating system and you should see pipes running around the inside of the van, they may be boxed in but have vents that allow the hot air to circulate, have a look under the right front bed box and you should see the heater, you can trace the pipework from it, and there should be vents behind the front seat backrests, and elsewhere in the van.the Truma inlet will need a Truma pump,so I think your Whale pump is the wrong one, have a look online for Truma pump and you should be able to get a picture to show the one you need, good luck with your new van, once you get these niggles sorted I hope you will be able to enjoy it.Just checked on You Tube and your whale pump should fit, have a look at Dan Trudgians video about the pump, might solve your problem.

Since all the kit in a caravan is generic ie very few heating makers-simply google the type of heating you have and get the individual instructions-usually much better than the caravan maker booklet or the same anyway-ie alde-look at the number and google it! i spend a lovely day in the pub reading up on our first van -it's a steep learning curve-if in doubt ask a neighbour on site as it is far easier to show than type-caravanners are nearly all really nice and very happy to help!

Unless for some reason you can't contact your seller, then I'd suggest asking them to let you have any instruction books. Of they're genuine people I'm sure they'd be happy to oblige.

Sorry I am not familiar with that model, but the above web sites might help with some problems. The last one is the handbook.
As the Prof says I would get the model of Alde heating you have and check their web site as it has a lot of useful information.

It is for the ALDE heating and there is no cap or cover over it. We had the same on our 2011 Lunar. Nothing to do with Whale who are as always most helpful.
