Finally got round to modifying the infuriating Lunar original reading lamp so that it will point towards your book instead of the person opposite

welcome to the Forum. I'm not familiar with the Lunar light, what did the original version look like?

It’s a subtle difference but the original can never be pointed straight down as the diffuser end comes up against the base - so it can only be pointed towards the wall or towards the person opposite 🙂

Good stuff, I was never a fan of those lights in my Lunar. It did not bother me only because I never used them.

I see another form over function - the OEM was too short on the stem - well done for a neat and practical job and thanks for sharing!

I suspect that the original design had the diffuser much shorter ie the same dimensions as the spotlight end. At some point they may have changed it to the current size, which was a miscalculation of the clearance with the base.
