This is reminder to members that if you are travelling from the south to mid and north wales service areas around birmingham are in short supply. The first one from south of birmingham is Telford services on M54. These are small with 6 caravan bays. Staff in the services are friendly and facilities kept smart. If the parking is full then you can get food, mornings, just outside. Out of services take first exit at island and in the layby within 100 yds is a butty wagon. To turn carry on down this road towards Shifnal and turn at the island about 1 mile. For deisel the easiest is tesco at junction 6. At Jct 6 follow signs for AE, Hospital. Keep in left lane and take slip in 100 yds. On the forecourt take the left hand pumps and you will have an easy exit. Open 24 hours.Sainsburys and Asda are at Jct 5 but access is difficult for tourers. Further on on the A5 is Montford bridge picnic area. North of Shrewsbury. Here there are loos, (not impressive!!!!) and a brilliant diner open 9 to 6 ish. Oswestry services is accessible and has about 4 bays but can be busy and obstructed by cars. Fuel is easy if you use the right hand pumps. Note that the Shell garage north of Oswestry is closed for updating- pity it was cheap and accessible. Hope this helps those coming my way. By the way I have no financial interest in any places mentioned and my comments are meant to help visitors.
