There are ten bays available at Telford shared between coaches and caravans. In spite of "No HGVs" notice, invariably there's often one parked plus the usual white van. See the piccy

Thanks Jaydug and Sproket.
You have confirmed what I thought on looking at google maps and that is that caravans and coaches share parking spaces
Need to use the services next month so will see how I get on

Used the services in the last 2 weeks after a trip to north Wales. There are only actually 5 caravan spaces, the ones on the left of the picture, the other 5 are for coaches only. There is a sign up saying so and threaten a £100 fine for non compliance. It also shows a cctv symbol on the sign. Now I found that out of the 5 caravan spaces every other one was filled leaving 2 available. Quite honestly I found it all a bit tight to get into any of these spaces whilst keeping the caravan in line, there isn't much room to swing in. I actually parked in one of the 'coach' spaces on our journey to north Wales then spotted the sign. I never moved and stopped about 30 mins. On our return we stopped there again and I parked alongside the grass verge, just below the coach spaces in the picture, as it was busier. I then noticed in front of me there was a post which I think may have had a camera on but it was missing, I couldn't see anymore cameras around. Anyway we've been back a week and not had any fine in the post as yet.

Other than that it's easy access into and out of the services.

Hope this helps

Mike

That must be comparatively new. Two years ago it just had a sign at the entrance of the area saying no HGV's m- not that that stopped one foreign trucker.

Thanks Mikeyw. The reason I started this thread was because I used google maps and could see signs showing where caravans should go but then the signs stopped at what I assumed was the coach park with nothing written on the tarmac saying caravan parking.

Take care guys with M54 services. The caravan spaces are very tight and on a funny angle. Do not park in the coach bays. They are used a lot and you may be fined. All HGV spots are reverse in. If you want to avoid this going west you can get fuel at Tesco at Jct 6. Off Jct 6 round to right at island, follow signs for H (A and E). Tesco is about 200 yds on left. Take left hand lane at pumps and exit is OK. (Pay at pump only.) (As you come away from pumps there is a free cash machine on the right.) Don't go onto the retail park as getting off can be difficult. For refreshments and loos there is ample parking north west of Shrewsbury on A5 (Montford bridge). If you take the Welshpool road there is a diner and loos on the right in Ford. When the M54 comes to the second island , now A5, Salop Leisure is off at the first exit. Plenty of parking and a cafe.

If all you need is fuel and a quick rest stop, Cosford, J3, the one before or after the services has a large fuel station with a hgv lane, Subway franchise, loads of snacks, Cosford caravans next door and if the parking at the fuel station is busy, there are a couple of large lay bys on the way back to the motor way.
