We are intending travelling through Spain and have been looking for an over night stop(s) for one night but all camp sites I have contacted require minimum of 2 or 3 nights. Is it acceptable to stay overnight in the service stations? Or any advice on where or how to search for campsites near motorways that will take one night stay. At the moment I am looking at a stop near Madrid and also near alicante.

I am booking other sites direct and not a member of any of the clubs.

Can anyone recommend a campsite for an overnight stop between Bilbao and Malaga, presumably near Madrid which is roughly half way.

Or is it safe to sleep in service stations or lorry parks?

........these two camp sites are well used as overnight stops on the north south route past Madrid.
Both open all year round.

North of Madrid at Pico de la Miel

South of Madrid at Aranjuez
