Making an equiry with a cl

Have you ever emailed a cl and asked if they had a pitch available for particular dates (in six months time), then received a reply saying yes they have a pitch for those dates.

Have you then been chased up a day later asking if you want this booking followed by two question marks?

Or is it me being funny?

When you emailed the CL, did you specifically ask to book the dates if there was a vacancy, or just make general enquiries, Lisa?

Maybe the owners just got hold of the wrong end of the stick!!

I didn't book the dates, I just asked if they had a vacancy.

In the meantime though, I've downloaded a clip from Armcher and the site doesn't look very good at all. So it's a no no.

Ummmm ... it's you being funny :O)

Your email was an enquiry not a confirmation. They responded answering your question of are those dates available. It was then up to you to confirm that you'd like to book them.

At least that's how I understand it :O)
 
I thanked them for the second email (the chase up email) but said at this time, I couldn't make the booking but would be in touch.

Maybe they had someone else enquiring after the same pitch for the same dates, and didn't want to let it to the other people until you'd either confirmed you wanted it, or said that you didn't.

I suppose it's the second question mark that perhaps makes it seem 'funny' - but that could just be a typing error!??

This type of "marketing" seems endemic in our society today.

Many a time I've asked for an insurance quote and then been hit by numerous chase ups to buy their product.

As it's a CL I think they were just being polite or maybe they are desperate for the business. Who knows.

Certainly not you!!

Dusty, talking about 'chase ups' - I have been stalked by Safestyle windows for months and months.

Each time they ring, I tell them I have had all my windows replaced plus a massive conservatory erected (not true). They still keep ringing. Each time they ring, I ask them not to ring again as there's no point.

The last four or five times they've rang, I said I'd moved house and was living in another part of the country. On the call I had the other week - they asked me if 'the house I had moved to needed double glazing'!

The next time they ring, I'm just going to pick a random address somewhere and make an appointment for them to call.

And yes, I am with the tps but they call my mobile.

I always answer the phone as "????? Dogs home".

They ask for me. I say in a gruff voice who wants him. They say . I then say hang on he's down the kennels I'll go and get him. Then just leave the phone . They go in less than 5 mins and never seem to ring back.

I think I'll try that, but I'm still tempted to sent 'them' off to an address in the wilderness of Kent.

Do what I do, tell them you live on the 9th floor of a multi storey. They hang up before you can say anything else.
