Marks from suction hooks!

We have been attaching hooks on the side of our caravan to hang coats on, the suction ones that you push down the hook to create a vacuum. We have never had a problem until we started to use hooks with a black base. The hooks have left a rust coloured ring on the side of the van. Has anyone got any suggestions on how to remove them? T-cut or Cif does not work.
