mattress bedding

I suppose in years to come we will all have to be content to snuggle up on memory foam toppers = but what about those, like me, who don,t get along with this material for lying on. Does anyone know of an alternative?. I find memory foam to be hot and a little unforgiving. brian 108

Hello Brian,

Its what you find most comfortable, Some people don't use toppers at all. Its matter of what each individual finds most comfortable.

Alternatives to memory foam could be sheepskin, polyester or feather filled toppers.

Thanks for your replies. Please can you remember Dustydog where it was you bought your feather topper at 4inches thick. I have searched the net but most seem to be no more than 2inches. This product seems to be the answer to our problem. Brian108

Hi Brian
Away in York at the moment. It was six years ago from an advert in the CC magazine.
I'll do some research and let you know.
The Scandic Crown Hotel Edinburgh is where I first came across these toppers.

The shopping channel (QVC) do a selection of feather mattress toppers through the "northern nights" brand. I have bought bedding from them, but not a mattress topper and it is nice quality. QVC have a website, you don't have to wait for it to come up on the telly!

Its what you find most agreeable, Some individuals don't utilize toppers by any stretch of the imagination. Its matter of what every individual finds generally agreeable. Contrasting options could be sheepskin, polyester or plume filled toppers.

Our van came with a Duvalay mattress but after 18 months it was very painful to sleep on. Not recomended for anyone. We had a bespoke pocket spring mattress made, it is like heaven.

Seems you are still having issues sleeping if you wrote the post at 4.26am. LOL!

This Forum is not just UK based, it is actually US based and is read by people all over the world, and in different time zones.
To see a post that may have our local time stamp (ie 4.26) does not mean that it was that time where the poster replied.

We spent about £600, on a memory foam mattress for our side bed, in the caravan. After about 10 times out decided we didn't like it. Too soft for the wifes back, we can't even give it away, it's on the forum marketplace.

If I’m condemned to the single bed in the caravan I use a Thermarest self inflating camping mat on top of the mattress. Sublime.

OC , ours is the twin "French Bed", back to the original mattress with a cotton topper. Wonderfull. Happy NewYear to you and your family.
Hutch and Elaine.
