I have a problem with My 2005 Elddis Crusader Super Storm. My Hip is at just the right position to drop into the gap between the two 'back rest' cushions which I place in the Centre of the bed resulting in back ache. I have tried the cusions in other positions but its worse. I am considering a mattress overlay in memory foam.

Does anyone have any experience of them and any recommendations.

Many Thanks

Hi Robert

I have a Raskelf 2" memory foam overlay. They make a BIG difference to an otherwise uncomfortable bed. It rolls up and fits neatly under the bed. Raskelf are not the cheapest and I have not tried others, but I would have no hesitation in recommending this one. Hope this helps. www.Raskelf.co.uk

Hi Robert, we use a Raskelf 2" overlay at home, have to agree with Chrissylizzie. Expensive but well worth it. If your budget is tight cheaper versions are available often advertised in caravan magazines.

Hi Robert

I have this weekend seen at our caravan dealers a 1" Raskelf overlay being sold. It did not feel very thick and I personally felt that the 2" would be the one to have regardless of make. Let us know how you get on.

I too was getting backache from uncomfortable cushions so I now take my Thermarest inflatable sleeping pad (from our camping days) away with me. It has ironed out the dips, rolls and ridges nicely and slips under the sofa seat during the day.

Many many thanks to all who have taken the time to reply. I have taken the plunge and ordered a Raskelf 2" Luxury topper (my wife deserves the best). I'll let you know how we get on when it arrives.

Again many thanks

Hi Chris

I am sure that you and your wife wont be disapointed. We now sleep better in the van than at home. When we ordered ours I wanted it tailored to fit the fixed bed, whilst Raskelf were willing to do this they told me that rather than risk sending them the wrong sizes it is very easy to cut the foam using decorating siccors. It turned out that they were correct and it was very easy to trim the topper at the corners to fit the contour of our mattress.

Definatley well pleased with the product.

Havent weighed the topper and as ours is on a fixed bed it doesnt come off, as an estimate I would say it weighs less than the long cushion on the front seat.
