Has any one used one of the above, in region of Luxembourg/German Border with a Sky Digi box , just got one for a bargain £20 I have looked at satelliteforcaravans website for possible info, so no pointers towards that brilliant site thank you. In the past I have took an oval 60cm sky dish with a tripod I got from screwfix, but the boss didnt like it as it isnt compact whilst travelling.

I have the Maxview 66cm dish and tripod which I used in Brittany last year very effectively. I used it at Pleubian on the north and Benodet on the south western coasts of Brittany. As far as I understand it the 40cm Maxview dish is intended for UK use and the 66cm dish for Continental use. Incidentally my Maxview outfit did NOT work when I tried it in Croatia in summer 2010 - presumably the dish was too small.
I don't know about the size of the Screwfix tripod so I can't comment on that. My Maxview outfit fits in a dedicated carrying bag. The Maxview tripod folds down quite small and the dish, is obviously the largest part of the outfit. The Maxview dish does have a folding LNB arm. When packed away the outfit is manageable but I would not describe it as being particularly compact. I take my Maxview outfit away with me whenever we go away in the caravan and have used it successfully all over the UK including Loch Lomond, Anglesey, Scarborough and North London in the last 12 months. I use it conjunction with a Humax Foxsat Freesat box but it would work with a sky box or free-to-air satellite receiver.
If you look on Ebay Item number: 160826306240 you will see a photo of a Maxview 66cm outfit identical to mine folded up - that will give you some idea of the size. The one that I am selling there is a Brand new one which I bought from Discover Leisure when they closed down - they retail for about £200. I am open to reasoanble offers if you're interested!!!

I think you will need a larger Dish than that we use an 80 cms Dish on tripod we can get every channel on Sky with Dky Plus Box in that area. Just got back from Germany and Austria and due to the change of Satellites we could not received BBC or ITV down there like other years. For sound advice go to this site you will get all the gen from there.
