Mayday or AA or RAC

Keep hearing of Mayday rescue horrors on here. I am with Mayday and have never as yet had to call them out. Does any body know does the AA or RAC do the same type of service for caravaners Ie full recovery of you and your caravan.

Rac wont cover a car and caravan unless you are in the camping and caravan club (sore subject)

Sorry Trev but you're wrong, unless RAC have changed rules in last few months. We have full RAC membership and it covers the caravan up to 26ft if the van is attached to the car at the time of the breakdown. We were recovered last year from Lancaster to Oxford due to a faulty sensor that the patrol man could not rectify. I don't think it covers the caravan if it has a mechanical fault, but not sure.

This subject has come up several times recently, RAC will recover the van if the car is at fault, but if the problem is the van then the answer is no , they do not recover, this is whether you have the manufactures RAC or C&CC Arrival..

The above is not what I infer from the following, copied from the C&CC website:

* Off road assistance - including recovery from a UK campsite (provided vehicular access is permitted)

* No width or length restrictions for caravans/trailers/motorhomes of proprietary make

* Covers breakdowns on the caravan and trailer not just your vehicle

* Covers you as a driver or passenger in your or another vehicle (non-commercial vehicles, excluding certain vehicle types)

* Arrival Return - taking you to your UK holiday destination and back home again if your vehicle can not be repaired (When Recovery has been taken as a membership option)

* ReUnite - brings the vehicle and caravan/trailer together if they are separated due to a breakdown

* No European supplements for trailers and older vehicles if taken as an option

Some of this is presumably optional with different levels of cover. I rely on this so I hope you are wrong Robert ;-)
