Meathop Fell CC site, Grange Over Sands

Hi there,

We are considering staying here during the summer months, we are a family of 2 adults and 2 children (age 7), we enjoy a quiet holiday, playing family games with our children away from the husstle and bustle of roudy sites, I would much appreciate any general comments, regarding the site, best pitching area, places to visit etc.

Many Thanks

Andrew

Stayed there for a week last summer. Lovely site to usual CC standards.A busy site in the summer but still quiet and peaceful. The worst thing about the site is the narrow road in and out. Make sure you don't arrive before 1pm.

Andrew,

We have stayed at Meathop numerous times as we can get there after work on a Friday from home (just).

As John says, the site is up to the usual Club standard.

There is a small play arear at the bottom of the site with pitches surrounding it, so either choose or avoid this area depending if you want to be close to the kids playing or not. Other than that all the pitches we have used have been good.

As you approach the site you will go along a lane and get to a short steep narrow hill. Its a good idea to pause at the bottom of the hill to ensure nothing is coming down so you can then accelerate up without having to worry too much.
