I’m looking into a Memory Foam Topper for our fixed bed (Not Island). Big bucks it seems!

Are they worth it? Any suggestions to keep costs down? Thanks.

I have a double sized Kensington mattress topper, 100% cotton cover and 100% poly filling - a 2 inch depth . We use this over the inverted front seat cushions when made up to a double bed, and liked the usage so much we bought a similar one for the bed at home. In the caravan it folds up small to pack in the underseat locker by day - (not an issue if you are 'topping' a fixed bed) - and cost somewhere around 30.00. If buying for yourself check the thickness you require as they are supplied in different specs - and of course you can spend a load more and get down combinations to serve the same purpose!

We got one from Costco. It isn't shaped but I just tuck the excess on the cut off corner under the mattress. We have a near side fixed bed. Really comfy. Stops OH back aching. Can be a bit warm though.b loads cheaper than buying a shaped caravan one.

We also have one as ours is a made up bed and just having a sheet down isn't too comfortable but having the topper on the top makes a hell of a difference.
Plus like someone says, it folds up small enough to be put under the front seats.

We had a 2 inch topper from a spare room bed, cut it to suit the side bed , fantastic, but kept slipping to the side a little. Bought a fitted mattress Memory foam thing really great, 9 inch deep, A wrong buy, much too heavy, added another 15 kg to base weight, but lovely and comfy. I would have gone for a 6 inch mattress.

We find our double comfy enough but on the single I put a self inflating camping mat under the bed cushions. It makes a lot of difference. And it is very light.

We bought Online for about £40 and trimmed the corners. The specialised made to order ones can be rather expensive.
