Could we please have some explanation for the senior citizens (including me) as to what is a hot thread and a sticky thread etc. etc. and why do we need them ?

As far as I understand it, a hot thread is one which has lots of replies and interest. A sticky thread is, I think, one which is of some importance and is 'pinned' by a moderator in a permanent position at the top of the forum. At least, I think that's right.....I may of course be completely wrong! (it's been known! lol).

Soozeeg, (how do you pronounce that?) is right.
We may pin important topics every now and then, I can't remember what the thresholds are for "hotness" though.
