ref: de blekker camp site, it looks realy shabby on the internet, ie no grass, cordened off by very high hedges, and in small enclosed compounds of 2 or 3 vans, what is this site realy like? as i am going dover to dunkurk, 8 nights and don't want to drive so far, looked at de blekker, also the 2 kompas camping site near to it, we have camping cheques, if possible could we talk about de blekker, its easier than this forum, my mob number is 07737699196 after 5pm today or after 1pm tomorrow. thank you Barney.

Brian,

One thing you need to understand is that the whole coast from just North of Dunkerque, through Belgium and all the way up through Holland to Amsterdam - is basically reclaimed beach.

The soil is very sandy, and if there is any period of significant sun - then the grass turns brown and the sand shows through. In the case of Holland - there are no real hills until you get close to the German border and a good portion of the country is below sea level.
