Just took my caravan out of storage ready for Easter to find I have had squatters over the winter - mice. They have eaten through the groundsheet, awning, carpet etc. Quite gutted. Gave the caravan a good clean and hopefully they have departed but how do i stop getting them again??

You must have a hole somewhere .. 
All gas drop vents should be covered in steel gauze, check every one to make sure its intact. Then look everywhere for any small holes .. a mouse only needs a hole the size of a 20p piece to gain entry.
I know of one 'van where the bathroom sink drain had come off ... the little s*ds climbed up through the drain pipe ... the tell tale was the pile of rubbish outside under the drain ..

sorry to here that eric, but can fully understand how you feel, we had it about 5 years ago.our van was sitting on its seasonal pitch ,for its winter storage. we decided to change the van and sell the old one privately, so on the first day of the season new van gets delivered and buyers for the old van arrived as arranged, ONLY to open the door and the mice had eaten there way through every single cushion in the van .so no sale and we got
Sorry to hear of your problem with mice.
Besides checking the vents check where pipes go through the floor that the holes are fully sealed round the pipes.
Also check the bulkhead in the gas locker is sealed round the edges. Mice only need the slightest gap.

Just read the post you suggested. Bounce tumble drier sheets are a new one but certainly will smell nicer than mothballs. Thanks
ive used moth balls and had no problems mice will get through a small hole ,mice have fluid bone structure it can get into a small hole and then reform its shape.
i read an article in the paper ,and it said that any hole that you can poke a pecil through a mouse can gain entry
Finally got the moth balls - had to get them off the internet. No sign of our furry friends since. Lets hope it lasts
