Microwave

have removed microwave in our Indiana to try to find a digital one that will fit.It is one of the cheapest on Gods earth but it also seems lightest at 10kg and low current consumption. The nearest digital one I can find is 13kg.What microwave do other caravans fit as standard that is digital?

yes it works well enough but it is difficult to be accurate with the timer so warming up bottles for example they are either still cold or really hot not the end of the world but we want to keep this van a few years so rather get one sooner or later.Otherwise we'll pop it back in and live with it

Thanks anyway

Deli Dave,

Well you've seemed to hit the nail on the head, yes the micro wave in my Indiana (07 model) is crap when to compared with the one at home, but if you learn to live with it you will find its not so bad at all when compared to no micro wave at all, just use it to defrost or reheat & you wont go wrong!

Hi DD

You are obviously more demanding than we are and why not but if you are asking what other caravan manufacturers use then you can expect the same quality as they are competing for the same market

I would go to Currys etc with the dimensions and pick the best one that suits you for your purposes

When we had our 2 childre under 13 months we had a 2 burner gas cooker in out 9ft 2 berth and no disposable nappies

What load of old rubbish

I will now shut up and get my warm cocoa

Best wishes

I love all the gadgets these days!!

i could really just use a timer and stop it that would work.I can get same size microwave but the current and weight is quite a bit more I dont want more weight up high if I can help it.As you say John G its a lot better than it used to be we had a small Sprite once so I have roughed it in the past(joke ,no smileys on here)

Hi all, on the subject of microwaves has anyone fitted a bought one eg. type you buy in super market into a caravan and has it been easy enough to run leads for the socket etc.

Have you fitted it into a cupboard or just leave it on the bench, we want to fit ours so that it can stay in caravan all the time and leave more space in the kitchen.

Jennifer

I posted this before

We have the same one in the Oklahoma and so far (2yrs) its Ok

Its exactly the same model that Morrisons sell for

mine has a light frame screwed to base of microwave which lifts the door over the cupboard lip and a couple of screws to hold it its quite secure and safe.
