When we got here yesterday the microwave has moved on one side manage to put back but i don"t think it is secure just wondering if i brought some double sided tape would that keep it safe when we are towing?
Been in contact with my caravan engineer and book appointment time when we get home .

Without actually seeing how your microve is fitted in your caravan it's really difficult to advise you.
However, if it's in a cupboard I would suggest you don't use double sided tape as removing it when you get home may be difficult. Could you use a couple of large car washing sponges or rolled up towels pushed between the sides of the microwave and cupboard walls to stop it moving about?

My feeling would be the best bet is to take it out if you can before you move and store it safely elsewhere. The microwave should be held in firmly by screws and it sounds as if something has failed. They are quite heavy and need to be held in firmly and I am not sure some double sided tape will be up to the job. BB plus under no circumstances block any vents, but I guess you already know that.

Although my microwave in the caravan doesn't move about, every now and again the power plug, used to work its way out. It hasn't done it since having new tyres and haveing the wheels balanced.

Microwaves are considerably heavy and I doubt double sided tape would be strong enough to ensure a secure fitting.

Strangely enough I've just been looking at ours with a view to taking it out to use in the house as we've never had one and it may save a penny or two given the price of watts these days. It's securely fixed with a substantial metal bracket screwed to the cabinet.

We are going to try the car washing sponges large size this might stop it moving about👍

One corner is secured cannot move it the other side has failed we are going to try and wedge it so it cannot move 👍

I would try to get something solid in as sponges sound as though they would still be too soft. I see from your photo the caravan is an Abbey. I have not had one like that and do not know how you get it out on them but I wonder if someone else on here knows, or possibly it will come up on you tube.

Microwave and generator are quite heavy and have given me the most trouble on securing, especially on bumpy roads. Self tapping screws securing brackets have always pulled out. I now use 1” ratchet straps pulling each hard against the back, with soft cloth under the strap at corners protecting paint

We went to home bargains yesterday manage to get some jumbo car sponge twin pack for 65p so we are hoping they will help to wedge that corner of the microwave .

The microwave is now repaired the caravan engineer said he had to rivet it in and the plastic frame surround feels more secured when we brought the caravan .
