Microwaves

Can anyone tell me if any manufacturer produces, or has produced in the last 5/6 years, a caravan without the usual gas cooker. I wish to use a normal domestic microwave (not one of the "toy" microwaves fitted in an upper locker space currently fitted to many models) and mount it at a more normal height in the space vacated by the cooker .

In did this with the Elddis Gulfstream (made specially for David Barron) which I have had for the last 13 years.

You should look at continental vans (not Anglicised ones), as the oven is nomally an option and the microwave standard.

Also in many, the height of the microwave is such that scalding is unlikely. unlike the UK vans where the microwave is installed above head height.

Beware though, some smaller continental vans also install the microwave too high up.

I'm sure you are already aware of this but beware the current usage on the Grown-up Microwaves, you'll get away with it on 16amp hook-up but smaller site often only have 10amp available. It's some Water heater/kettle/Telly/Micro combinations that can cause trouble.

20 years experience of running a "grown-up" microwave on numerous sites has made me aware of this problem.
