Hi, off to France soon.We are sailing from Portsmouth and coming down from the midlands via m40, A34, M£ and M27. Apart from the usual motorway services (unless you know of a good one) anywhere else where we can eat and park the caravan safely please. Will be about 5pm in the evening on a Saturday night. Thank you

When we come down from the North we stop at Northampton J15 Services on M1 and then go down the A43/M40/A34 Oxford bi pass on towards the M3/M27 to Portsmouth and stop at Sutton Scotney Services on the A34 which is usually quiet and you can park the van outside the cafe windows if you want to keep an eye on it.
From there to Portsmouth Ferryport is about 60miles if I remember correctly

Thanks for that will take a look. We have considered eating at Cherwell junction 10 on m40 but it does get busy and packed lunch at port but would rather get down there just in case of problems

Endorse Sutton Scotney on A34. You go in with the lorries and there’s lots of space. It’s a Road chef so if you are a member of the caravan club download a voucher from the CC website to get 20% off most things. (Motorway prices!!) Last time there i found caravans not welcome at Oxford services on A34. Ok on M40 Oxford services, to avoid any confusion.
