Milenco aero Mirrors and Ford Kuga

m really disappointed with the Milenco Aero mirrors I purchased. Despite tightening the clamps as much as possible, they still fall off easily. They seem to fit okay on the mirrors, but the moment I touch them, they come off.


I even went to Perthshire Caravans and spent another £14.00 on genuine Milenco V Pads, but I'm having the same issue. I'm tightening them really firmly—almost to the point where a torque wrench might be appropriate. While they appear to be securely fixed to the car, any movement or adjustment of the mirrors causes them to fall off. This could be dangerous if it happened while driving.


For context, I drive a 2024 Ford Kuga S-Line. Should I try other pads, or just give up? Thanks for reading.

Very welcome Jock.

Thats a strange one. I have always found them OK on a number of different cars. There was once I found they were slipping a replaced the overpriced generic inserts which cured the problem.

Hope someone with a Kuga can help.

On my Santa Fe, with the Grand Aero, the standard flat pads would move, swopped to the V type, but had to turn the V pads around, so the little tab was NOT in the groove. Worked wonders, might work on your Kuga.

Doesn’t sound good at all. Have you tried fitting them on the lower edge of the wing mirror rather than the upper edge. We had one car ( not a Kuga) where that was the better fit. Still shouldn’t be falling off though. I would agree with the suggestion to ring Milenco.

Yes, that was the reply from Milenco: just buy another set. This is the first caravan I have ever owned, so I'm going to purchase EMUK mirrors.

Got Kuga no problem with mirrors. Just use the basic type with rubber bands. Now used them for 52 years and fitted every tow car of all makes over this time. About 10 years ago I thought I would try these Milenco,but took them back for a refund with never using them,and back to my old faithful ones.

We had the same issue. You can buy adapters from Milenco that will allow the mirrors to be fitted. They clamp on very tight.

Not much help,but I have the mirrors and the kuga,not a problem.I clamp them to the top of the car mirror,outer clamp about 1cm from end and the other clap in the middle.I just make sure they’re fully butted up and tighten the thumb wheel down tight ish,never had even a slight issue? Maybe watch a couple of YouTube videos to see where/if you’re going wrong.

I’ve tried everything – the mirrors look secure, but when I go to adjust them, they come loose. I now have them listed on eBay and explained the situation. I've since purchased the Emuk 100630.

Milenco Mirrors Update:
I purchased the V pads to try, but they never worked. So, I headed over to TowingMirrors, since they claim to be based in the UK, and ordered a set of EMUK mirrors. They didn’t arrive within 24 hours, and even after 72 hours, they still hadn't been shipped. What a disappointment.


Then I discovered they’re not actually in the UK—they're based in the Netherlands. After chasing it up, I was told they’re out of stock and won’t be back in stock for another two weeks. That’s no use to me, so I cancelled the order.


Out of desperation, I bought another set of pads for the Milenco mirrors—this time the F pads—and guess what? They fit perfectly! Hardly any movement now; I could practically swing on them.


So that’s finally sorted, though I’m not sure if TowingMirrors will refund me for the EMUK mirrors. I’ll have to wait and see.

I believe the UK's Distance Selling Regulations allow you to cancel within 14 days.

After posting elsewhere about problems I've had with my tried/trusted 15 year old Milenco's on my Audi (both from a clamping and satisfactory positioning perspective) I had never heard of "F-pads" until reading this. A bit of a search shows they're designed to offer improved grip/clamping especially on VAG cars! Promptly ordered a set so thanks for the enlightenment!
