I have a Milenco wheel clamp and I have great difficulty in getting it to close even when putting it in the car boot. I'm thinking to change it for a easier to use one. What do you use?
We too have a Milenco and it can be a b.....d. Many times it is fine and a little waggle will see it home [or released] - another day it won't have it at all - much cursing etc. then suddenly it goes. Everything has to be lined up square!!
When parking on grass we always have a large 1/2" board under the wheel [bigger than the Milenco] as we have had difficulty removing the first piece of Milenco due to settlement of the van. All very frustrating - I would not buy another nor recommend a Milenco to anyone. However if it so difficult to remove with a key then perhaps thieves would be put off - I wonder.
I have a Milenco wheel clamp which gave me a bit of o problem when we first had it, what I did was to give it a good spray with WD40 around the lock area then wipe all the access spray off since then I have had no problem at all, it slides into place and locks with ease.
Did you turn the key!!! after you put the top plate on then you put the right plate on next did you insert the key and turn it clockwise (I think) that should then allow the left plate to engage fully into place.
Hi Mike, I had a Milenco and despite using WD40 and ensuring that the lock was retracted etc it wasa real pain especially on grass non-level sites. I have changed it for a Bulldog WQD44 when on tour. At home (gravel) I add a Bulldog Titan to the other wheel and both Bulldogs fit well and the front mounted mover does not interfere. I understand that the latest Milenco is advertisd as being easier to fit!
Thanks Clive just the sort of information I was hoping for. I found a web site that listed it, not on Towshure's. Looks a bit spindly. Also why are they so expensive?
