Mini tour of Europe

Hi All,

We are touring some of Europe in August, has anyone stayed at any of these sites, if so, what were they like?

Camping L'Escale - Le Grand Bornand, France.

Camping Campalonga - Bibione, Italy.

Camping Natterersee - Innsburuck, Austria.

Camping Platz - Rudesheim Am Rhein, Germany.

Many thanks.

Hi Jonah

We stayed at Camping L'Escale at the beginning of June this year. A lovely site within a few minutes walk of the village and facilities seemed good. Unfortunately we had terrible weather so cut short our stay there - the Alps had disappeared all the time we were there - but expect August will be better. Have a good time.

We stayed at the Rudesheim camp site in June last year. The facilities are very clean and its only a ten minute walk into the town, by the side of the river. Like a lot of German sites it is an open area, that is there are no designated pitches. The owner is very helpful and speaks good English. Some of the electrical points are reversed polarity.

The main tourist area is the "Drosselgasse" with Bier Kellers with Oompah bands etc. A good trip is to get a round trip ticket up the cable car to the niederwald monument. Spectacular views of the rhine. There is a walk through the woods to the chairlift which is included on the ticket. Get the chairlift down to the river, and then a ferry back to Rudesheim (also included).

If you don't mind being a bit out of Innsbruck then look at Camping Hell (sun) at Fugen in the Zillertal valley. Excellent and the scenery is wonderful.

Hi Wendylois, Michael and Ray S, many thanks for your replies, they have been a great help. Best wishes, Jonah.

We have just spent 3 months in Europe doing 9 countries. At the end of March begining of April we stopped at Nattersee and it was wonderful even tho it snowed and was freezeing. Philippe in the Office and the Boss were so kind and helpful too. Cannot speak to highly of the site.
