Mirrors with XTrail

If towing a 7' 2" wide van with an XTrail, are the cars mirrors adequate?

I recently pulled an older van for trial purposes and the mirrors were ok.

Hi Janet

Not sure about the legal side of it with regards to being "adequate" but I drive an XTrail and tow a 7'2" van and although you do get a view down the side of the van it's nowhere near as good as with towing mirrors. I would certainly not go without them, passenger and drivers side.

yes you will need mirrors i drive a 55 plate xtrail towing a Swift Charisma 555 and without them i cannot see along the side of the c/van you must be able to see right along both sides of whatever you are towing . the police will stop you and morethan likely fine you as you are unable to see both sides of whatever you are towing.i would find it very hard to pullout to overtake anything as you would be unable to see what was coming up behind you and also you would not know how far past anything that you passed before pulling back in again
