I have towed with two Galants - an R reg 2.0 litre, then a W reg 2.5 V6, like the one you're looking at - both estates. BUT they were both manuals!

I towed a Pageant Champagne (about 1350 kg MTPLM) - which I think is about 100% match. It towed very well. The cruise control was great on the motorway, and the self-levelling suspension very effective.

Reliability fantastic, and the engine is ultra smooth. Just a bit thirsty, about 22 mpg towing.
