Moho to Caravan

Hi, I have recently made the difficult decision to switch from a motorhome to a caravan. This was based purely on the need of having a car when away. I'm sure there will be hassles with caravanning I haven't thought of yet but I have to say I am very excited about crossing over to the other side. The thing I'll probably miss the most is the cheery mohoers wave which most people give each other as they pass each other on the road. Do caravanners have similar secret signals they give each other? Also would like any advice or warnings about my new caravan which is a 2015 Swift Classic Danette (looks suspiciously like Swift Challenger Sport 586) 6 birth, bunk beds. We're getting a Landy to tow it and a powrtouch motormover so any advice would be gratefully received!
 
Hi Nathan, welcome to the forum and to caravanning. We went from a motor home to a caravan and have never regretted it. Yes there are some hassles with towing but the extra space and the ability to just get in the car and *** to the shops without decamping more than compensate.

Duplication Nathan. Traded my Autotrail M/Home for Swift, ACE version. Collected 3 weeks ago. And towed with Disco, with mover for ease of parking.
Now trying to fond space for the gadgets from van in the ACE.
No funny handshakes or waves I am aware of, just smile through the windscreen and look happy. That will recognise many others of similar disposition .
 
A welcome from me also. I've been caravanning for more than 50 years and I can remember the early days when, if two caravans passed each other on the roads, furious waving always took place. Motorvanning has never appealed to me because I like to arrive on site then use my car to explore far and wide. Here's to you enjoying the change of travel.
