I have an opportunity through work to acquire a company vehicle and can choose from a limited Ford range.

I have been looking at a Mondeo 130 bhp that will set me back circa £180mth (Inc Tax) whereas I have been offered a 115 bhp for £100mth. Quite a saving over the years so I wondered what difference the extra 15 bhp will give me.?

From your experiences is this a big issue ? would I be better going for the 130 bhp ?

If so, I will but worth checking beforehand.

Thanks for any advice offered.

It would depend on the size of the van towed, but I would want the 130 to tow a van I guess, but do a two car comparison on www.whattowcar.com for the two different sized engines. If the 130 has six speed box remember that it may be towing in 5th a lot of the time if you have a heavy van.

80 quid a month is alot of money for 15bhp. i have a 115 tddi mondeo and find its performance more than adequate, so a tdci 115 should be even better. drove a couple of 130 tdcis and they go like ****. tough choice .

good luck

I had the choice of a 115bhp c-max or 130bhp c-max. I didnt even think about the 115bhp c-max. I would recommend the 130bhp version of the mondeo. I have the 6 speed box on my c-max (the smaller engined c-max only has the 5 speed box) and its superb running solo. 55mpg at a steady 70mph on the motor way. With the caravan it runs well in 5th (not geared for 6th gear at 55mph nor will the mondeo).
