More Than Car Insurance

We have had to make a claim on our car insurance company, More Than who we have been with since approx 2002. We have two cars insured with them and received insurance certificate, schedule and a policy booklet, which at the time I thought was the full policy booklet which contained 20 pages, with details of what was and wasn't covered etc. Since our claim, they are referring me to sections and pages 39 etc which I do not have, and have never seen. I telephoned More Than and the young lady explained they do not always send out the full heavy book, but normally a booklet, which is what I believe I have. Since 2002 when renewing the car policies, I have received new versions of this lightweight booklet and a letter highlighting relevant changes to the policy, i.e. they increased the excess etc. Is anybody else insured with More Than who also only has the smaller booklet and not the full size book in excess of 40 pages? I'd be greatful to hear if we are not the only ones with just this smaller booklet!

Slightly off-topic, but did you hear about the guy who had a "heart attack" but when his insurance company (who he had critical illness cover with) looked at the results, they claimed he hadn't - No Payout !!

I think they all probabaly have a clause - we can add any extras with notice and not tell you.

Or in your case not give you all the info in the first place. How can you make in an informed choice as to accept the policy within your 7 or 14 days "cooling off period" if they don't give you all the info.

This isn't really acceptable is it.

Hopefully you will be paid for your claim, good luck.

If you request the full book, they are requried by law to send it to you as it is part of the Terms and conditions. If they refuse advise you will contact the Insurance Ombudsman.
