Hi I'm about to fit a used powertouch mover, in fact two as its 4WD on a twin axle.. there are no fuses supplied.
Should I fit one fuse in the live cable to the isolator? If so what value as it is supplying 2xmotors.. or a fuse in each live cable to each controller (again what value?)
Thanks..

It needs a fuse somewhere but the location may depend on the model. I would look up the makers website and see if there is a manual on there.

We have the Powertouch AWD which was fitted by Powertouch themselves and there is a whacking great big 20amp fuse inline on the positive cable.

I have a single axle Move Master Motor mover and that has a 80 amp inline fuse, just before the Isolation switch, in fact it looks like a small Buzz Bar. It's a wonder yours doesn't keep blowing B'man

I would have thought that 20amp would be more than suffcient. At 80amp damage may occur befroe fuse blows? I don't know to be honest.

A 20A fuse does seem very small considering its being used for a motor mover. I suspect most caravan mover motors would pull 30 to 40A for each motor each when stalled, which would easily cause a 20A fuse to blow.

However Some mover manufacturers have provided control systems that employ a "soft start" specifically to reduce the peak current demands of the motors when starting from standstill. I'm not certain how they have enabled this, but perhaps that might allow just a 20A fuse to carry the motor loads.
