hi

i have just regestered today on this forumn and would like some advice on motor movers for my swift challenger 530 se.are there ones to stay clear of is it just a matter of buy the dearest.? i am looking at one in a magazine that has a 5 year guarentee which is the one i am thinking of purchasing but thought i would ask the question first to you guys

most people either buy the powrtouch or the truma.both are very popular as they give a 5 year warranty.personally i have a powrtouch and its a brilliant piece of kit.had no problems with it mechanically,once it wouldnt work but found it was due to outside interference with control unit.a must have for all,best thing ive bought in a long time
 
I have a PowrTouch and am very pleased with it - 5 year guarantee - and bought cheap using their price-match promise.

It's a market where "get what you pay for" doesn't necessarily apply.

As said they will add weight - they'll need a 110Ah leisure battery (but a 70Ah car battery will suffice if you ALWAYS have hook-up).

wasnt sure if i could mention the make but its the powrtouch im looking at in the magazine i have.

i have been reading up on some of the messages posted an it looks like i can swing a price comparason deal with them so cheers for the info

If you want a mover that will cope with the majority of caravan sites and slopes, go for one that drives the caravan main wheels.

If you are only looking to move your caravan on flat hard ground then the ones that attatch to the hitch or replace the jockey wheel will do, BUT these are not safe on inclines or where the ground becomes slipy.

We had a powrtouch mover fitted to our Bailey Bretangue a few weeks ago, we opted to have it fitted onto the van on our drive. We are really pleased with it. We relocated a few months ago, our new storage site is good but on a slope and tighter than our previous site, also our drive is good to reverse onto but can be tight towing off , its a sharpe right. The mover makes it easy.We are experienced caravanners and thought long and hard before buying a mover. Hubby got ours new on a 'buy it now' on ebay at a very competative price,fitted. The team that fitted the mover were excellent.

Have a Reich, never needed a warranty in over 5 years; now I have done it!

Excellent bit of kit, very well engineered of good quality items but best used in applications that permit aft of wheel installation as its roller is quite low. Overall it's no lower than the rest but it is locally in that vulnerable area.

Just wanted to say on this forum, that last week while on holiday in the van my rollers on my power touch broke I phoned the company who without hesitation sent me two new rollers, As these were modified from the originals the technical department helped me over the phone change them> The one I removed had its bearing stuck on the facing plate and made it impossible for the new one to fit, It was only when I removed the other side that I could see the what was wrong, however power touch tech`s were only to happy to talk me through the job, So a big thank you to all at Power touch, where 5 year guarantee means 5 years
 
I have an enduro and it does the job extremely well. Have just got back from a few weeks in france and had the oppertunity to see several others and probably my only comment is that there are a some much more glamorous models around. The enduro does seem to have all its bits showing!

We have a Powrtouch fitted to our Bailey Pageant & would not be without it makes life much easyer no pushing & shoving into position just stand back & watch it, no more shouting @ the wife when YOU do not get it right reversing.

We've got a Powrtouch 3 fitted on our caravan and it is without doubt the best thing we've ever done (aside from buying the caravan in the first place!)

We got stuck towing uphill onto a muddy pitch at Mayday and so we unhitched the van and the powrtouch moved it up a fairly steep, muddy bank with no effort at all.

The best advice that we can give is to search the internet for the cheapest deal you can find on any brand of mover suitable for your caravan (there are quite a few dealers on eBay) then email Powrtouch directly and ask them to pricematch. We got ours supplied, delivered and fitted for
