Ok thank you , do you have any tips on keeping the guinea pugs cool on hot days?
No, but I've got a bag that's had cakes in it.............
What's a guinea pug?
Is it a particularly ferocious rodent?

Yes, after roasting slowly over an open fire thye will be quite hot, but let them rest for 10 minutes and they will cool down and be absolutely delicious.

Why does everyone think I am taking the 'mik'
At the risk of seeming unfriendly by stating the obvious, the clue is in the name.
This is the Practical Caravan Forum, and you are asking questions on the Towcars message board.
With this in mind I think that most forumites would agree that we don't know much about guinea pigs, and we're approaching winter, so we know even less about keeping guinea pigs cool in hot weather.
Your guinea pig question has got to be one of the most random off the wall queries that I've ever seen on this forum and that's saying something, but hey ho.
Why not write in to Practical Caravan letters page to ask them how to keep hot guinea pigs cool?
They like a good laugh as well.

Seriously, if I were you Mikaroony before before deciding anything I'd pop along to a caravan dealers where they sell more than one brand, the larger dealerships sell several makes.
Whatever you do, don't be persuaded to buy anything, if sales staff ask if you need any help reply that you are 'just looking'
Do this a few times, visit different dealerships with different makes of caravan so that you get chance to gain a sense of what you and your other half like and what you dislike in each model. Make lists so that you can remember and compare the good, the bad and the ugly.
At the same time do your homework on tow vehicles, keep an open mind because you're not sure what caravan you will buy yet.
The NEC Caravan Show is coming up in February so after you have had a good look around what is on dealers forecourts, if you are buying new there will be a great opportunity to have a final look round to compare the new models and grab yourself a good deal on a new caravan.
If buying used you will know what is on dealers forecourts , dealers will be keen to move older stock before the NEC show so you will be in a great position to grab yourself a good deal on a used caravan.
Win - Win

The Insignia is certainly a "smaller" car - much less roomy inside than it's Vectra predecessor or it's Mondeo competitor.

The insignia is a very stylish car , cheaper and has a bigger towing capacity
GM are rolling out their new families of engines with the 2014 model year Insignia to replace the hotch-potch of old or obsolete diesel engines from Fiat, VM Motori and Isuzu - about time too.

hmmmm. interesting roger, as Fiat and GM split sharing sometime back one could say the insigna was all GM/saab anyway!
one would also say nothing obsolete about Fiat engines since the beginning of this century! and frankly without their MAJOR imput into CR, [common rail] the best you could have would be a noisy VW PD engine!!!!!!! please!.......

Fiat and GM formally dissolved their engine alliance some time ago but both retained rights to use the engines and GM continued using the Fiat-derived 1.9 diesel until recently - Fiat are introducing replacements based on newly developed VM Motori engines, which of course they now own. There's no doubt that GM's alliance with Fiat was vital for their existence in Europe but no longer has any benefit as those engines are no longer competitive.
The GM-Saab involvement was all one way, despite what Saab fans like to say - so of course the Insignia is all GM !

Fiat diesels hotch potch?get a grip! 100hp per litre 5 years ago,(ref 1.9ttid)
I could rite a noval on this, but i have never read anything further away from the truth than this Rodger L.Please enlighten me,it seems funny how GM dropped the DTI series of engines to replace them with jtd,s when actually the DTI was 16valve and direct injection. Why not simple bolt common rail to it?Because GM have no expetise of diesel engineering.
The joint venture-the only input GM had on the 1.3jtd was the adoption of the timing chain. What is the only failure on the 1.3jtd engine?Hey ho, the timing chain!
FPT europes largest Diesel engine maker,it stands for Fiat power train.Yes VM has been bought. But thats it,the name.FPT are not relieing on exsiting VM designs.A new 3 litre diesel is underway, which even mercedes are fitting.
As Jonny says, without Fiat there would be nothing.By the way the insignia comes with the 1956 jtd,not 1910.

Anything made by Fiat I would find very suspect and this feeling is based on previous experience. As much as we would love a new Jeep Grand Cherokee if we had the money as it now has the Fiat based engine we would avoid it like the plague.
