I'm posting this here and on towing not sure where to put it..

We have taken our van to have a powertouch mover fitted, they are now talking about having plates fitted to the van for the mover.

Was told this would cost us £300 more.

Has anyone had a mover fitted to an aliminium chasis?
 
Smiley, the problem with aluminium chassis is they are not strong enough to take the forces produced by the mover, and if reinforcing plates are not fitted, the chassis may twist.

It is quite rare these days to find aluminium as the chassis metal used, it is normally galvanised steel.
