But Blaming the murder on government cuts or as one social medai poster called it the crawling fascism that's infecting our country. Why?

Blaming government cuts is legitimate. Virtually every budget in the counrty has been chopped, including defence, the police, fire service, NHS. Its bound to have a knock on effect. Burying heads and pretending it isnt happening, isnt going to make it go away.

Oooch - with nearly as many people out of work as in work where's the money coming from to pay for everything?

Ah, the old question. I totally accept there is NO money to pay for these things, but its the fact that budgets HAVE HAD to be cut that has the effect. Not a political bone in my body, I dont get expenses, but its a fact Im stating, not a political point. Im blaming the cuts, not the government for making them.

I find "Live and let live pills" work wonders.

Tried to get some on the NHS but there is no money. They did offer me some sour grapes as a replacement.

if we wasn't giving away £350 million a week there would be plenty of money to buy sour grapes for everybody.
the fact is there are too many nutters out there on the streets because there is nowhere to put them, just as there are too many criminals because the deterrent is no longer effective, there is not enough police to catch them or to keep us safe, and nowhere to put them out of harms way once caught, the end result is a hard working MP wife and mother is no longer with us.
if that is the price one pays for progress then it is too dam dear.

How so true that is Sir Chunky
You can guess where my cross went. B)
I suspect the others will win after the recent sad events and no doubt my next caravan will be paid for in Euros :woohoo:

If things carry on the way they are doing, my next caravan will be an Airstream paid for in dollars.

I've no desire to become embroiled in the murky depths of political discussion, particularly as we do our best to keep politics off this caravan forum, but I have to say that this referendum campaign as well as this terrible murder has revealed deep divisions among politicians from all sides.
No matter which way Thursday's vote goes I get the distinct feeling that, for good or for ill, things in Westminster will never be the same again for any of our elected representatives.

hi Steve, I don't think it is about politics, or even the EU although granted it has an effect.
it is far more important than that, and indeed goes to the very fabric of so called modern Britain, when even a member of parliament is not safe walking the streets, what hope is there for the rest of us.

all I would say on the subject is looking back 40 years ago [something the younger generation cannot do] we had a reasonable expectation of security, and safety on the street, and within our own borders, but not today, and in another 40 years who knows.
our local MP was a local man ex JP and well respected by all whether you agreed with his politics or not, now there is no respect for anybody, least of all MP's and it's going to get worse, my father had a saying, " you can take the animals out of the Zoo, but you cannot take the Zoo out of the animals" when you close all the Zoo's where do you put all the animals, think it's called care in the community clearly it doesn't work. does it!!.

My thoughts exactly. All I would add to that is that its probably gone too far now, we have lost control of our own borders, we have lost control of our security, and its highly unlikely that this downturn can be reversed now. The Britain we know and love, and what it meant to be British has gone forever.

And this isnt a political statement, regardless of which party is in, the trend is accelerating.

Be optimistic Thingy ;)
If we win tomorrow we will enjoy 1600 watt vacuum cleaners, rapid boil kettles have our Sovereignty back and stop wasting millions on two ridiculous non elected Parliaments who don't like us anyway B)
We must be optimistic that sensibilty and not short sighted fear wins the day :cheer:

My optimism disappeared at the same time of any semblance of hope. The Romans gave up, Napoleon couldnt do it, Hitler failed, and we had to sell ourselves out to lose Britain.

Since when did a British Prime Minsiter have to go cap in hand the the Germans. The supposed concessions from Europe, about as accurate as the other fool that said "Peace in our Time".

If I am totally honest, I doubt the people of Britain have the moral courage anymore to make a monumental decision. Im expecting when I get to Cornwall that all the beaches will have row after row of backsides on view, as the good folk of Britain bury their heads in the sand once more. 1914 and 1939 spring to mind.
