I think your time will come, John. Let me explain, we have the deisel manual, using a carefull right foot we got about 30mpg solo and about 25 while towing. Figures not disimilar to your own, however we have used the car more than you and its now up to 27k miles. What a difference those miles make, I brimmed the tank one day (it must have a wide filler neck as I added about 10ltr more while brimming)and traveled on 50-60mph roads for over 100 miles, the needle was still on the full mark when I arrived. Then travelled another 110miles, same sort of speeds, then hitched up the caravan for another 100 miles of towing (return journey from Hunstanton) and still had just under half a tank left. Over three hundred miles and still with all that expensive stuff still in the tank, frankly I was amazed and at the same time rather chuffed. True, the roads were not fast, I used 5th gear as soon as I could but I kept up with traffic at all times. Maybe your Sorento just needs more miles on it too. The way I look at it is that I had a Suzuki 2.5 petrol before, and that made me weep where fuel consumption was concerned, the Sorento is now making me smile, keep the faith bud.Richard S:
Identical to me; My Sorrento is a second car and, since new last October have dome 6000 miles only. However, mpg whilst solo is only 26 mpg and when towing (steadt 56 on cruise) I see around 20 mpg. Frankly I think it's awful.
Yes we too have the Senator Oklahoma !
Any thoughts?
