Having just come home from Sandringham pulled on the drive and to my horror found that the rooflight had parted company from the van.As the dome and handles have all gone i presume you can buy just that and not the whole unit, are they easy to fit?

Any help would be gratefully recieved...

its depends on whats left .if it is just the skylight this is easy .but it as damaged all of base part of it you may have to replaceall of it, on each side of the skylight inside there should be 2 small screws that hold the arms of the skylight in place check to see if these are you may be lucky and just replace the skylight these are around

Simon, the roof domes are held in place by small screws through the arms of th ehandles.

As long as the receiver on the main frame is in good condition and not snapped off, then th edome can be replaced very easily.

If the receiver is broken then a complete new roof light will be needed.

There are several sizes available , normally 200mm x 200mm, 400mm x 400mm are the ones most commonly used.

Have a look here: http://www.leisureshopdirect.com/caravan/ventilation/mpk_rooflights.aspx

If you check your van and see if just the dome can be replaced, if not and you want advice on replacing the whole fitting, just ask

You might as well buy a complete one, and if you can get away with leaving the base alone, you will have all the parts to repair it, but if something else has gone AWOL, you have the complete item there at hand to replace, here is a link to MPK Rooflight they dont look that expensive for a complete one....
