musty smell

I would plug the end of the outlet pipe & then mix a solution of bleach in a bucket & pour it carefully into the sink until it just covers the plug hole, after any air has come back up,then leave it for a few hours & then remove the plug from the end of the pipe & flush through with plenty of water....

I carry Zoflora Antibacterial disinfectant (which comes in a small plastic bottle) for use in all the caravan drains. Resonably inexpensive, small to store and it goes a long way when diluted 1 in 40!!! Smells nice too.

I block off the outlet just before we leave home and then pour a couple of pints of the cheapest malt vinegar I can find down the drain. When we arrive drain off into wastemaster then pour kettle of boiling water down drain. It gets rid of the food scraps that inevitably stick in the waste pipe no matter how careful you are.

Bleach also works but I do this at home so that I don't inadvertently spill it on grass!

Good luck, Liz
