How long have you waited for your No 1 well known caravan and ins company to answer the phone thats ringing at your expense...
smiley-undecided.gif

Only to hear "we were very busythat"

More like no one to answer..... 3 days, various times later ..one call just to hear their ring and woman saying they'll answer soon cost over £1 ......after the call being picked up by their auto mative recording, 20 minutes later its still ringing

I went through the 0800 No in the end so will have to check if I was charged after they transfered me where I had to wait for 25 minutes for someone to answer

after having the quote and doing my sums with the one quote they gave they have increased ins by 7% no problem with that,
But the best is on family 2+ kids the increase

is over 100% Yes, over 100% for the kids!!!

Has anyone used AA or similar companies to get quotes ??

I cancelled my car insurance with a well-know doggy insurance company, when they took over twenty minutes to answer the one call which got through (after trying many more times and getting 'We are experiencing an unusually large volume of calls.................' and 'Your business is important to us..............', and then when they spent five minutes checking my personal details to prove who I was before they would tell me anything! I had to cancel anyway as we've had to sell my car, but took great delight in doing so, despite all the sales talk to try and persuade me to stay (and a rather interesting and quite marked sudden reduction in premium!!!!)
I've been investigating both breakdown cover and personal 'holiday' insurance for our trips to Europe, and we've been impressed with ADAC, a German (RAC type) automobile members' club - where ANNUAL (NOT multi-trip - but ALL YEAR) cover for Britain and Europe is just 98 euros for a couple - if you're travelling in a car/caravan that is. I'm not sure whether they cover families, because we don't need that cover, but it might be worth investigating. Breakdown cover in this country is accessed via the AA and I'm assured that no-one has had any problems with services here and responses have been very quick. Their cover is very comprehensive and appears to compare well with others which are much more expensive for similar cover.

Yes, families are covered (all children under the age of 18).

What sort of personal insurance do you mean, Smiley? Overseas health insurance? Personal third party insurance? Either way, the ADAC do not cover that with their normal membership.
