my broken van

how many things have to go wrong with your caravan before you get a new one from your dealer. i brought our new van 11 months ago and it seems to be at our dealers getting fixed more than at a caravan site making our family happy?

Crack in near side front locker

Trim on the inside of the caravan needs re-sticking

Trim on the shelves need re-gluing above the bed

Shower light is intermittent

Screw cap on mirror missing

O/S/B locker is not catching on the right side

Kitchen sink work top needs replacing

Habitation door lock is stiff and hard to open

Edging is coming off around the wardrobe

Rear off side cassette door not closing

Supply and fit new locker box

these are a few things

Back in 2001 we had a new compass and it was replaced free of charge for a new 2002 model, three times the dealer came and collected it, on the third occassion that it had been flooded inside I said I did not want to see it again and wrote directly to Michael Hold when he was still at Explorer Group. Within 3 days the dealer offered the swap, all we had to do was agree we were happy with the new spec. Had we not been we could of had a full refund!

Of course now I have a Coachman the problems are much less and more easily resolved.

if the caravan is not of merchantable quality or fit for purpose then demand a full refund or exchange . Check your rights by logging on to the the sales of goods act at one of the .gov.uk sites
