My Carpet is falling apart

Greetings,

On getting the 'van ready for our latest trip I have noticed that the backing mesh to our loose fitted carpet is coming away in just one place (about 6"x6").The van is 2007 and has been used for two months in total.

Anybody got any suggestions on how to fix it.

My first thought was to stipple the affected area with PVA glue and let it air dry.

Any other suggestions , other than staples and nails bent over gladly accepted

If your van was new in 2007 then I would firstly consider asking your dealer about replacing the carpet as it will probably be under warranty.

If it is not possible to get it rectified under warranty, you can get a new carpet copied using the old one as a template.You can chose both pattern and quality. Then make sure that you get the edges 'whipped' and you will probably end up with a far better product than those sold with the van.
