The largest show of the year, if your going what are you looking forward to seeing.
for me it's the new Eternit slide out caravans which are being launched at the show.
plus the one item on the shopping list is a Truma gas level reader.
but always manage to come away with all sorts.

cheers
John

Hi John

As you always end up with loads of bits. Its nice reading about them in the magazines but you can't bet poking and pulling these things in person.
I'm looking for a suitable front towing cover, to stop all the road c**p being thrown up. Nothing worse turning up on site with mud and dead flies splattered on the front of the van.
Looking forward to the show.

I also can't wait to see the new Eterniti caravan, really fancy the one with the same layout as our current Conqueror 645. but having already been stung with having a new design of caravan and having 40% damp at the first service (along with many other 2011 swift owners) i really think it would be better to wait 6 months or so to let them sort the teething problems.

but i am hoping to purchse an isabella magnum at the show.

Done both deeds already this year, A local dealer was doing the isabella magnum for 995 which we bought before going along to the Lawns show and ordering the new van ahead of the rush.

They were stuck away in a back corner at the show however IMHO the best looking caravan at the show. Don't understand why they need two doors for the bathroom area? Also their island bed models are not a true island bed as it would be very difficult to get out the one side. Well made caravan otherwise, but not on our wish list at the moment.

sufer, the reason there is a door in the bathroom, is because when the "slide out" is in, for travelling the large king size bed nearly touches the oposite wall, if you wanted a wee on route you would have to climb over the bed.

Had a jolly to the show today and really busy.
Seemed very big manufacturers stand which have taken up a lot of space.Other stands seemed smaller?
The New Bailey Unicorn is better in the flesh, the big window from inside looks great and the lack of front chest is much better, you can actually sit 3 people on each comfortably without someone being pushed into the corner.
Nothing else stood out apart from the 8 foot wide Adria which was very busy with people going in and out.
Not so many motorhomes as last year.
Wanted to have a chat to BPW about how to fit the wheellock without the wheels locking hard against them when you lower the jack!!!!
Resubscribed to PC to get my Autoglym gift, why do you have to cancel to get the free gift? shouldnt they look after the subscribers they have already??
What else did i buy? 3 Isabella storm straps for £13 each.

Gotcha but that seems even more ridiulous and very badly thought design. We have the Delta TI with the island bed across and have no issues using the bathroom in the rear. As said really like the outside looks of it and one of the best looking at the show. The Unicorn with that large window in the front was a joke!

we have the conq 645 which is the same layout as yours, having two doors is not a ridiulous design, when you consider that the eternti caravan has a full king size bed, without the corners cut off, unlike either your or my van.

I went to the show today with a mate of mine who is a copper.
He said that there could be a problem using a front cover as they cover the front road lights, which need to be visible even in daylight should you run into fog or rain when your road lights should be on.

Just back from the show. Too much to see and too little time to see it in. Is it me or was it really quiet there today? I seem to remember it really busy last time...

i stand to be corrected but i thought the quality front covers, ie Pro tec and speicalised covers, that are made for your particular van, had cut outs for the road lights

That is my argument with a company that supposedly "specialise" in front towing covers and they refuse to take it back despite me raising a complaint prior to fitting it onto the caravan. They do not answer emails and fob you off on the phone. They say that at night you can see the lights through the cover which you can but faintly. In the daytime in bad weather like rain, they cannot be seen!
Although our cover is not even 6 months old, already it is showing signs of wear. The cover is not fit for purpose and wish we had gone with a Protec towing cover.

My first time to the show. and came away injured due to the eterniti caravans..

Its a good concept but instant problems was the overhang at the front of all vans so wide that when I stood up my head collided with said underneath of cupboard, when the sales man was talking to us. Do you think they will change that disign??
other problem on the models with the cooker by door. there was no space for saucepan handles and you would have to turn with hot pans to the sink as that was on the opposite side of van. I wouldn't buy it. But the 6 berth berth with side coach seats and fixed bunks was very nice in kitchen area.
We got stuck with 5th wheelers which I instantly fell in love with. But had brill time and will go next year.
