Need help buying

Hello

Please help.

I am after buying a 5 berth caravan,looking at the avondale dart 510/5 1999-2002 MTPLM 1210

I am towing with a 2001 mondeo lx 2l tr d

the dart looks ideal, but i am uncertain, have up to £5000 to spend.

please can some i give me their views.

Or an equivalent size weight length etc.

We have been looking at "lighter" 5 berths for a while and also tow with a Mondeo. We considered the Dart, Lunar Zenith, Quasar, LX2000 or Bailey's Ranger or Auvergne. Some of the the older Swift's, Sterling's and Abbey van were also in our weight range.

Our kerbweight is 1563kg so for the recommended 85% match we were limited to a van of around 1330kg.

We ended up buying an 8 year old Coachman with an MTPLM of 1400kg and a Miro of 1150kg approx, so long as we are careful not to load the van with too much junk we will still be within limits.

Another thing to consider is how easy will it be to get spares that are specific to Avondale now that they have ceased trading. If you look on the website of Derby caravans they have a Dart in stock near your price range, possibly including a warranty.
