Nemesis Ultra wheel clamp

Hi.

I've bought a caravan and it has the Nemesis Ultra wheel clamp.

I dont have the wheel nut adaptor. Can I just use 12mm hex head to undo it w
Rather than buying the adapter?

Hi
You could use a 12mm hex key if you can get enough purchase on it to slacken the receiver however when you refit the wheel the receiver will need to be tightened to the required torque, also I remember from an earlier thread that before 2013 the hex size was 10/11mm then 2013 onwards the size was 12mm, depends how old the wheel lock is.

Thank-you. It's 12mm as I have tried normal Allan keys on it.

I have a set with various sizes of these somewhere that hopefully will be long enough Amazon Link and are designed for impact use so will be fine with the require torque.

I was just wanting to check if there were some other reason for the adaptor that prevented the use of a hex head.

The adaptor allows a 19mm hex drive for the ‘normal’ wheel bolts to be used with the lock-bolt.
